Free TI-30XA Scientific Calculator Online

This is a free TI-30XA calculator online — a browser-based simulator that follows the single-line TI-30XA key layout. Use it for algebra, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry, physics, and GED prep. It supports the standard TI-30XA workflow: a b/c fraction entry, EE scientific notation, DRG mode switching, log / ln, hyperbolic functions, and 2-variable statistics.

What is the TI-30XA?

The TI-30XA is Texas Instruments' classic single-line scientific calculator, sold since 1996. It's a classroom standard across the US: low price (around $10-15), durable, long battery life, and approved on virtually every standardized test in the United States — SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP, GED, GRE Subject Math.

If your class uses the older TI-30XA, this simulator gives you the same keystroke flow. If your textbook shows fractions stacked vertically, switch to the TI-30XS MultiView.

What this TI-30XA online calculator can do

  • Scientific operations — powers, roots, reciprocals, factorials, π, e
  • Fractions — a b/c entry, improper / mixed conversion, fraction-decimal toggle
  • Trig — sin, cos, tan, sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹ in DEG / RAD / GRAD
  • Hyperbolic — sinh, cosh, tanh via 2nd HYP layer
  • Logs & exponentials — log, ln, 10^x, e^x
  • Scientific notation — EE key, optional ENG (engineering) display
  • Statistics — 1-Var (mean, σ, sample sx, Σx) and 2-Var (regression)
  • Memory — STO / RCL up to 7 variables
  • Combinatorics — nPr, nCr

When to use the TI-30XA online vs the physical one

The browser simulator is perfect for homework, online tests, GED practice, virtual classroom sessions and quick calculations on Chromebook. For the real GED, SAT, ACT or AP exam you must use a physical approved calculator — phones and laptops are never permitted.

How to use the a b/c fraction key on the TI-30XA

  1. Type the numerator (for example 3).
  2. Press a b/c.
  3. Type the denominator (for example 4).
  4. Press = to evaluate or chain another operator.
  5. To enter a mixed number like 1 ½: type 1, a b/c, 1, a b/c, 2.
  6. Press 2nd → d/c to flip between improper and mixed form.
  7. Press 2nd → F↔D to convert fraction ↔ decimal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free TI-30XA calculator online?

Yes. This free online TI-30XA simulator runs entirely in your browser — no install, no sign-up. It supports the same scientific functions as the physical TI-30XA: fractions, trig, logs, statistics and memory.

TI-30XA vs TI-30XS MultiView — which should I use?

If your class uses the older single-line TI-30XA, stay here. If your textbook shows stacked fractions or exponents, use the TI-30XS MultiView which has a 4-line natural-display screen.

Is the TI-30XA allowed on the SAT, ACT or GED?

Yes — the physical TI-30XA is approved on the SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP, GED, GRE Subject Math and almost every U.S. standardized test. Bring the physical calculator on test day; online simulators are never permitted during the actual exam.

Can the TI-30XA do fractions?

Yes. Use the a b/c key between numerator and denominator. For mixed numbers, use whole → a b/c → numerator → a b/c → denominator. Press 2nd then d/c to switch between mixed and improper form.

Does the TI-30XA do statistics?

Yes — both 1-variable (mean, standard deviation, Σx) and 2-variable (linear regression). On the simulator, tap the STAT tab below the display.

Does this work on my phone?

Yes — responsive on iPhone, Android, iPad, Chromebook, and all desktop browsers. Add to home screen for one-tap access.
